Fixing Seats using ONLY Insolence
I searched for this about a year ago, and read the tutorial that was given. It didnt help too much because it said use insolence and i was, but that "unknown 11" reflexive was not clickable. Well if you had this happen then this is deffinatly the place to be at the moment. Im gonna teach you how to fix seats for the; Gravity Throne(Prophets Seat), The Shadow, and any other vehicle you may want. Possibly even the Scarab, though I myself have not tried it.
1. Open Insolence
Open your map, mine will be Headlong, and whichever campagine map you need. For the Gravity Throne-deltaapproach.map, for the Shadow-oldmombasa.map
2. Move stuff
Now drag whichever vehicle files you need to your MP map. The Gravity Throne is, well gravitythrone.vehi. The Shadow=creep.vehi The move box will appear. DO NOT close insolence. even if your window says "Not Responding" It has alot of files to read and bitmaps to take apart and put back together.
3. Close all uneeded maps
Close you campagne maps and maximize your MP map(this makes it much easier to work.)
4.1 Fixing the seats, Gravity Thrown.
Im going to make this into two parts, as both require different things.
Open the Gravity Throne vehi tag. switch from Edit mode to Dev mode by simply clicking on the text "Edit Mode." Simple huh? Now in Dev mode im sure you noticed alot of new reflexives to click on. Dont touch them, you didnt switch to Dev mode to click on ANY new reflexives. If you use InsolenceV1 then you notice that unknown 11 is greyed out. We're getting around that. Click on the "Seats" reflexive. Now in the first chunk (#0) see "driver" anywhere? three spots? oh no! which one is it? Relax, you dont need to change all....in fact its best if you dont. Double click the first driver. Now you have to type "ghost_d" or spend endless hours finding it. Your choice. There! Now you can drive in it. Or can you? Theres a few more places to vist before your off the hook. Change the plugin from IFP to XML. Click the seats reflexive, and look at the list. Change "disable seat" to false if its true, and change "fire weapon(H)" to true.
There now you can drive it, shoot it, and kill with it. But its not on the map is it? I'll get to that later.
4.2 Fixing the seats, Shadow.
Now we move to the Shadow. You saw how when you destroyed it in campain it had a ghost in it right? well not in MP. In MP you have passenger seats. Eight of them. Now if your thinking what I thought, "Sweet, Im gonna have 8 people protecting my vehicle" think again. These seats are not easy to shoot from, but this makes for great games of CTF to storm a base.
Now fixing the seats. Like before, Switch from Edit to Dev. Click on the "Seats" reflective. Change the first creep_d to warthog_d. Now this one isnt as easy as the Gravity Throne, as you have quite a few seats. Go to the next chunk (#1) and change creep_g to warthog_g. There now you can gun people down with the amazing Shadow Turret. Now go to chunk 2. Change creep_p_l01 to warthog_p. Do this to all the next chunks, all the way up to 12. Now switch to the XML plugin. For ALL seat, change disable seat from true to false. For the gunner seat (chunk 1) also change Turret Fire, Turret Seat from False to True. There! Now you can use all seats in the Shadow. But its not on the map. I'll get to that now.
5. Placing Vehicles on the map.
Open the only .mulg file. Click on Muliplayer. You dont need Dev mode for this. Click Vehicles, and you'll see the warthog is in the first spot. I'm going to replace the Wraith with my vehicles. Go to chunk 3 and change the wraith to either creep or gravitythrone.
Done!
Thats it!
Thats all you have to do. No more hunting for hours on trying figure out how to open Unknowns. Expirement alittle, try the scarab. I will once im done with having a life ;) But seriously Try things out. If its in the vehi tag, chances are it can be driven. Thats it for now, I might write more tuts, but not now.
